I love Kedgeree. We make it often, you can also add diced red pepper. It's good with a dollop of mango chutney on the side. It's excellent made with smoked haddock. MMmmmmmmmmm. Hope you're feeling better.

Only you can make an absolutely nightmarish few weeks, end up with fantastic food and sources of comfort. I'd give your mom a pass on the Halls - I seem to remember my mom having the same lint-covered miracle sure in her purse too - and eh wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. And no, it didn't work.

I've recently discovered your blog and I really love it. Is there a way I can email this entry to a friend? I only see a Facebook button and a couple of others but not an email option. Thanks. And I hope you have a full recovery soon.

Dear Elissa,

I hope you and Susan are better. The flu pretty much sucks. Sorry, but there you have it.

Could we please have your recipe for what Julia Reed calls "pimmenah" cheese? I keep stuffing myself with the Palmetto brand when I'm in Atlanta, since I can never find it in NYC, but, oh, if I could make my own, and if it were good, it would put a smile on my face. If it's going to be in your book, never mind. I'll have it then.

I feel funny saying Happy New Year based on what you have just gone through, but I can comfortably send my best wishes to you for a good 2013.

If only Canal House was closer to you wonderful women. We would ditch the Hall's and feed you XXX chicken broth, fish congee, and more restorative soups. But I love that you are medicating with pimento cheese and kedgeree. You are the best, I just wish you were feeling better. Miserable to be sick.
